Last year I had Gozilla as a download manager
Worked good but it was a spyware attractor Red Face So when I had my drives reformated it was not replaced
This weekend I have several Largish programs to download and I want a similar program to Gozilla, with the "multilink loading " which makes for a faster download time.
But not with the "added"(unwanted) extras MadOk?
I had a look on the list of Download Managers and I came across Netants from www.netants.com
which is free (File about 1 MB) This too has the multilink loading capability .From the Screenshot It looks easy to use..But there was a warning on the referral link which said it was ad/spyware Frown,I had a look through the FAQ and it says it generates a cookie file for reference(I assume for a broken download restart reference point?(which is expected))
If this is the "spyware" plus the normal Ad banner then This is Not spyware Somebody paniked? Confused
Have a look and tell us if I should use this or not?
Thanks Smile

Rather belated follow up to this
I settled for Download Accelerator Plus from www.speedbit.comwhich is about 2MBs big and free to use. Pay $29.95 and the banners are removed, plus some features are activated. Wink
I have not used it yet,am still checking things out.
1 thing is certain it looks easier than Gozilla to use Smileand No hidden spyware that I can make out Razz
Info and download links here:here

In virtually all cases, the "free" download managers all install spyware alongside their product to pay for it.

I have only come across one genuine user friendly download manager, which doesn't install scumware, and that is Fresh Download
