on other message boards someone will say contact me on aim. what is it? the only thing i know of is aimster which i know has IM.

AIM is America OnLine's Instant Messaging feature.

(I just go to target and delete it)

AIM stands for AOL Instant Messenger. You can register, then download a copy or use the web based version at the AOL Instant Messenger home page.

Yes Samantha it is close to the same. I have both.
Yahoo just has cool smilies so I like that one best.
