OK, Im running IE 6.0 on XP. I apparently need to do some cookie housekeeping and was directed to the 'TOOLS' menu and to select the 'INTERNET OPTIONS' tab then the 'GENERAL' tab. This would be fine, except the only tabs from which I may select under the 'INTERNET OPTION" tab are: 'Security', 'Privacy', 'Content', "Connections' and 'Advanced'. There is no 'GENERAL' tab! How may I do my cookie maintenance? Help! Confused

Look just to the left of the Security tab, you should have General as the first tab, and on that page should be delete cookies.

I understand where it should be, however, there is no GENERAL tab - only the ones noted above. Under the 'Security' tab are the options: Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites & Restricted sites with no mention of cookies. Still Confused

Do you run something like Norton System Works? Perhaps that is hiding the setting from you. This is just a guess.

If that isn't the problem, then my guess would be that there is a corrupted system file. You can repair that using the System File Check (SFC) utility. Are you familiar with how that works?

This is a link to a similar problem and the SFC procedure is outlined there: Click Here.

I hope something here will help!

I've got the McAfee family loaded on my PC, but will check the link you provided and let everyone know if it helps. Thank you. Smile
