I read that soon whoever is requesting a credit card number online will be able to scan the fingerprint of the one supplying the credit card number. Do you have any idea(s) how this will be achievable?
"soon" is a relative term, and "Everybody" is as well.
I think the main issue will be the ease of use for any home user to scan in their print and send it off. Also, this won't be very reliable as the fingerprint will just be a peice of data on your computer and subject to be stolen just like anything else.
New IBM laptops are comming with biometric fingerprint devices. It is pretty cool, but hard to use based on my expereince with them (I have one from work). In the long term credit card manufactures can probably give away cheapo fingerprint scanners that pop into your usb port.
However, I think for the effort on everyones part that it would take for "fingerprint" identification to be implemented it won't happen anytime soon unless there is some kind of mandatory law for it. Otherwise most systems will be compatiable with the "old way" and there would be no real motivation to adopt the new system because it costs money and doesn't really provide much of a benifit.

i think some procedure about scan the fingerprint is necessary. some times need to confirm the status throught the bank. in some large multi-function hall, it's even need the ( Ad Removed - DG) to control some crazy people.
