Somehow about a year ago I accidentally activated something called "Shopper Reports." On every page I open on Internet Explorer it shows as a wide vertical bar down the left hand side of the screen with products related to the search I am doing. I don't want it there, and all it can do at the moment to get rid of it temporarly is to click a snooze button inside the bar.
I did go into the control panel and remove the program, but it still shows up. Confused

Found on Yahoos forum
quote:

ShopperReports is an adware which is a part of Hotbar recent installation via shopperreports.com. ShopperReports shows frequent advertisements from its affiliated sites on your screen.
This will remove it, free.

Hotbar is a nasty piece of spyware I have had over a week battling to get it off a computer here on AP
Run that program, then run a Registry cleaner,
as in CCleaner or ToniArts Easycleaner to get rid of any scraps
And tell us how you get on?

Thanks very much. That seems to have worked. Smile
Now, do I leave that anti-spyware program I just installed, on my computer, as well as the current McAfee one I already had on there? Is it OK to have them both?

If its a "Run to clear infection" program then it can stay
If it Runs updates And Scans constantly then Uninstall it but If you have downloaded the file then opened it (to install the program) then there is no harm in Keeping that to use another time .I have quite a few of these Backup files in an Isolated folder ( Currently 57 files = 850 MB) . I do only delete outdated Versions when a Newer stable version is available. Smile
