Hi all, (bit of a long one but important) I recieved an email from Magellass.com and included was a link to SpywareNuker, so I went and had a look. After the page loaded I was prompter to d/l and install SpywareNuker this I did and ran a scan with it, resulting in 12 suspicious finds which it would not remove until I purchased the full version. Original SpyWareNuker(tm) Package - download only ($29.95) Deluxe version - downloadable version with back up CD ($49.90) So using it`s own uninstaller i got rid of it,now the good bit.. I then ran SpyBot S+D and among other things it found 3 entries installed by SpyWareNuker!! 1 in the installation folder and 2 in the registry (global and user settings). This is the SpyBot log file:-
Description Heavily advertisement by spam (unsolisicited email advertisement); phoning home on program start; silently installing updates and content (meaning advertisement) into your system. Those applications may even come from third parties. No limitation is made about this 'value-added' content, meaning the license allows them to install any spyware into your system without your knowledge. In addition, using the program isn't safe - LSP hijackers get removed, but the Winsock not fixed so you would loose your internet connections.

Sneaky or what? I seem to recall someone possibly ivnj wondering about this in a post a while back, well it is here now a spyware detector that actually installs spyware, how bad is that? I have emailed Magellass.com and asked them to stop peddling this piece of **** for what good it will do. I will also be repeating this post on as many forums and newsgroups I can. This is truly out of order, as most people don`t bother to read fully the T+C`s and other smallprint...and they know that.
