My brother uses my computer for school and we couldn't get his school site to work for us around the end of June. We thought the site was having problems that day. Today we tried to get the site to work again and couldn't get the site to load for us. I keep getting this message "Cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer".

I tried using Netscape too and I still can't get the site to load.

My brother going to have a lot of online classes soon. I thought it was my computer acting crazy but a friend of mine couldn't get the site to work for her either. He goes to Morehead State University.

Please click the link below or copy and paste it and tell me if the site works for you or not.

http://www.moreheadstate.edu/

Thanks...Pace

It worked for me, both as a link and by copying and pasting. I use Mozilla Firefox, however, not IE.

Wonder why the site isn't loading for me? It has in the past but now for some reason it wont.

Can someone with IE check it for me? This is very frustrating. What should I do?? Confused

This site is loading correctly for me...using Internet Explorer.

I wonder if something in your "Security" "Restricted Zones" might be blocking it. Perhaps the words "morehead" might be compromising a language barrier.

In my browser, the page comes up as a "Internet" site with "medium" security set.

I suggest you try clicking the Internet Explorer Tools menu, Internet Options command.

Then click the "Settings" button and see if there are any program files that show "damaged" or otherwise indicate that there are problems.

If you see any, take note of the name of the program and right-click on the item and choose "Update". If that fails to solve the problem, try the "remove" option.

Restart your computer and try the Morehead College page again. It might open a dialog box offering to install a program file needed to open the page. If you don't see that, please post again with the name(s) of the removed programs and we can direct you to download sites to replace these damaged files.

See a picture of this

If this doesn't help, here is a link to their support page: Contact Morehead State

If that page won't open for you here is some other contact information:

For "other" inquiries, call 1.606.783.2221

I hope something here will help you!

I agree 100% with Dwight It looks as though there is a block somewhere on IE Security settings?
If you can lower the settings to Medium and add the Site to Trusted Sites (on the Security tab in IE).I do this with some secure logins (they start HTTPS://)
And its very unlikely look in the restricted sites list and check it is not listed there. Only go here if you have no joy with anything else Smile
And the Home page is loading on my computer with no Hesitation

Ok, I checked for any damaged programs in my settings but didn't see any that said that they where. I also went ahead and updated them. I only seen three programs. One for Quick Time and two for ShockWave. Here are two screen shots that I took so you can see:

and

http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d51/PaceAce/?action=v...ge=&imgAnch=imgAnch1

I set my Security settings from high to Medium and also marked it as one of my trusted sites.
I have zero restricted sites in my restricted sites list.

I restarted my computer and still can't get the page to load.

If you like me to take more screen shots of stuff on my computer I will if it will help.

Anyone have any other suggestions??

I removed Quick Time Player. It never worked right on my computer anyways and I think it installed it self from a game that I put on my computer.

Were you able to open the contact page linked in my first reply for Morehead?

Can you open of these .edu pages shown on this page: .edu Web pages

If none of the .edu pages open, then the problem is with the .edu extension in your Web browswer.

Can you get this page to open? Moreheadstate This page won't look right; pictures and so forth won't display but I just need to know if the page opens at all for you.

Dwight, All the links you posted above worked fine for me. I clicked a few links at the edu site you posted above, like one for University of Minnesota, Crookston - http://www.crk.umn.edu/ & University of Minnesota, Duluth - http://www.d.umn.edu/ and they all worked great on my computer.

And what about the original address .. is that still not working?
If that is so I think your computers being IP blocked by the Website server, either on its firewall or security software? Frown Contact them and ask if there is a Block on the server and you need immediate access (Bit of a lie but it may work) Wink
PS Are you and your brother with the same ISP? Roll Eyes That could be the cause of the block as some are blocked from accessing some sites Mad

I agree with Mike...it looks like an ISP block if the other sites are working correctly. You can also contact your ISP and see if they can negotiate with the college to let your ISP back in.

I only have one ISP on my computer and it's a local company. Maybe you two are right because my friend who tried to go to Morehead's site had the same problems I'm having and she has the same ISP that I have. Thanks Mike & Dwight, I'll try to get my brother to contact the school.
