In Windows IE 7.0, click the tool menu, then the Internet Options. Go to the Security tab and click the Custom button. Enable or disable scripts as you would like. You can experiment with this, then if you wish to reset everything, you can click the "Reset" button to put everything back to the initial start-up default values. See this picture.I too am in the process of learning a bit about scripting. It is interesting, but also challenging. Dwight

IE will not execute javascripts or AX controls on pages that are stored locally. (On your hard drive) To bypass it, follow Dwight's instructions. (Which does open a nice gaping security hole, particularly if you use Outlook or Outlook Express) A number of developers are switching to Firefox. Generally speaking, if it looks good in Firefox, it'll look good in just about any standards-based browser. (Not always true for IE, particularly for CSS2/3 and JS/AJAX)
