How do I go about putting a link on a message board? I see a lot of people doing it, but I sure can't figure out how to do it. All help greatly appreciated.

If you want a link to open in the same window, omit target="_blank".

if you are trying to post a link here, just use the URL button below.

Bibc has pointed out an easier solution. Click the "URL" button under "Instant UBBCode™". Enter the Internet address and press Enter (or click OK). Enter the text which describe the link (you can just reuse the URL if you prefer).

Sorry for the confusion -- I made the unthinking assumption that you wanted the HTML code which creates a link. If you were to type the line

<a href="http://www.answerpool.com" target="_blank">The AnswerPool</a>

into a post, it would appear as

The AnswerPool

Using the UBB "URL" button automates the process, but some of us find it more convenient to type the HTML directly. You can also type the UBB codes directly (this is probably the quickest option). For instance, you could type

[URL=http://www.AnswerPool.com]The Answer Pool[/URL]

to create the link.
