We've been on the internet with AT&T for about 5 years now. This has been my first & only ISP so I really can't give you any comparisons.

Currently our mounthly charge is $14.95/Mo., but this was found through looking around their site & finding the offer. Wheather it's still valid, I couldn't say.

The above is for unlimited hours so this seem like one of the best deals I've seen around.

Some times in the evening I'll have a hard time logging on, but usually 2 or 3 trys will get me on. Very seldom do I get "BUMPED" offline. This as happened mayby once or twice in the last 3 mounths.

I have seen AOL in operation and AT&T has none of the, I guess you would call splash screen, that you see around everything while on AOL. {Nothing but pure internet}

The E-Mail server is unlimited as far as I know, at one time a work partner E-Mailed me a 2.5 Meg. PDF file with no problems.

Really can't say anythimg bad about this service. Maybe someone else can give you some of the CONS I've never noticed.

Oh just remembered on time I had to call costomer service to get back ONLINE, (Was my fault fumble mouseing where I had idea what I was doing), Anyway after about 1/2 hour on the phone they talked me back ONLINE when we found an obscure registery entry that got garbled. This impressed me.

Good luck Mike B. (AKA Byter) smile

big grin By far, AT&T is the best out of:
1.Earthlink (crashed alot; 'though THEY say it's fixed)
2.AOL (totally didn't like the restrictive format - I'd have to open IE browser just to drag a page to my desktop, plus email is text only)
3.MSN (in Denver CO, MSN DSL/Qwest totally sucked + MSN's Instant Messenger won't allow you to sign on anonymously - format was very similar to AOL's browser restrictions).
Emailing from AT&T's site only allows text messages, but it's easy to configure Outlook Express to handle your AT&T emails; then you can "fancy" up your emails to your hearts content. They crashed once, back in November 2001 but got right back up & it's been no problem since then. I really like it!
It'll be a little different (if you've been using AOL exclusively), but it's not difficult by any means. Plus (my 72 year-old mom barely uses the internet) they offer 2 service levels. $16.95/mo for 150 hours or less & $21.95 for unlimited internet usage. I've been using AT&T for a year now and have no complaints. Good luck.

I have not used AT&T dialup before but I do know that there are other services out there that are cheaper.

There is a list of other online services in this post: Click Here

Hope this helps! smile
