The only two messengers I've used so far are Yahoo and MSN.

On Yahoo, when you get up your IM screen, there should be a little microphone icon at the top.
Click on that, and it will prompt you to enable voice chat. smile

My son just "recovered" our computer, so I don't think my MSN messenger has been re-installed yet.
But it should have a similar feature for voice chat.

One more thing - and please don't think this sounds stupid -
But make sure your monitor has a microphone so you can speak!
My "new" monitor crashed, so my son hooked up the old monitor to our computer - and it doesn't have a mic! frown

The MIC is a seperate entity that has nothing to do with the monitor!

HP built a line of monitors with a microphone built into them. Of course, the Mic cord has to be plugged into the microphone jack on the back of the computer.
