Before I throw myself into learning HTML for real, is something else going to replace it in the near future?

I highly doubt that HTML will be replaced in the near future.

There is the possibility that XML/XHTML will replace HTML someday, but it will be a while before it becomes de-facto.

Dear J-Wood, might I ask what XML and XHTML are please? Are they supposed to be better, easier or something? And why can't they put this stuff on a taskbar or on the keyboard like macros anyway, huh?
