I buy the cheapest commercial canned
spaghetti sauce (Hunts or Del Monte
always cheap here), then I add a
can of diced tomatoes, a small can
of store brand tomato paste, a can
of black olives and finish it off
be adding a generous dollop of
Pickapeppa Sauce, which really adds such a
neat flavor to spaghetti sauce. Then,
if I am in the mood for something extra,
I brown some sweet Italian sausage (with
finely minced onion and garlic in with the
meat while it is browning).

I use dog's method, but I add mushrooms to my sauce. I also use lots of oregano.

I make meatballs, and I add all the other ingredients to the spaghetti, instead of putting it in the sauce. I like Hunt's tomato 'sauce' best. I don't like the paste because it's too thick. I also fry onions and add it to the spaghetti. Gotta have the meatballs.

Sammy, I season the hamburger and fry it in patties and then I cut it up in pieces. Mine are not in balls, but I still call them meatballs. I don't bother trying to make balls because it's harder to manage and harder to get done evenly.

Sammy, an easy way to cook meatballs w/o the mess of frying is to bake them in a 350 degree oven about 30 minutes. If you have a rack that will sit in the baking pan, this is even better because the meat is sitting up off the drippings.

To the ground beef, add some breadcrumbs, an egg and some grated parmesan cheese. Hmmmm, spaghetti and meatballs, sounds like dinner tonight.

I don't usually make meatballs with my sauce, since my sauce already has ground beef AND Linquica in it.

(Along with lots of garlic, oregano, thyme, etc., etc.)
