Aroma Web

This is one of the best sites for Aromatherapy.
It has lots of great info! Smile

Aromatherapy and Depression

(Scroll down the page past St John's Wort )

Aromatherapy and asthma

This site says you should not use inhalations if you have asthma. You could try some oils in your bath so you don't have to inhale them directly.

One thing you can look into that could help is BodyTalk. It’s an alternative holistic health care system that is getting great results with Arthritis and other health care problems. They have an online radio show http://www.bodytalksystem.com/radio/index.cfm on Wednesday the 14th on June and it’s specifically orientated to Arthritis. It’s free so it might be worth a listen

Cheers

As a nurse, I cannot say that this is medically reasonable. I do say that the 'Placebo Effect' does have it's merits.

This is far from factual medical treatment, but if you feel it helps, do it!!

I really should edit what I wrote about 'Placebo Effect'. I like logic. It explains things not easily understood. Placebo effect is always associated with good outcome, but how do you explain why people die just because they want to, with no medical reason for this?

I have seen some amazing things working as a nurse, good and bad. I have seen people that, medically speaking, really shouldn't make it, but live only because they wish to.

No one ever speaks of good outcome of people who survive something that isn't really probable. I don't know what brought them back. It may be their terrified family and seeing their fear of losing a loved one. It may be to see their great grandchild one more time.

One thing I do see with survivors, against all odds, is their deep love of family, even if their family does not love them as deeply. That doesn't seem to matter to survivors. No one makes a big deal out of good, just the bad in life draws our attention.

I recently notice my contradiction of words when having a conversation with my daughter over a TV show about plastic surgery gone bad. An older diabetic woman got lypo and ended up with both legs, above the knee, amputee.

I felt this was tragic. My daughter disagreed, given the woman's age. She even went as far to say it would be ok with her to lose a leg at my age. Don't teens have a wonderful way of making you feel ancient! lol!

I have to explain to my daughter that no living person is ok with amputation. This is the singular group of post surgical patients that I have seen die with no medical reason at all. They go down quickly and die only because they don't wish to live.

Strong belief that something will make your health and/or pain better without accepted medical intervention is termed 'placebo effect'. This unusual outcome is accepted by science and medical community.

Given that placebo is acceptable to science, isn't it also probable that when you feel it is your time to leave this world, you really can, by your own will and belief? I have seen it. It is real.

My apology for suggesting that people are crazy if they believe something helps them outside of what is accepted by the medicine and science. There are many things I have personally seen that I am unable to explain with logic.

There really is so much of humanity that cannot be explained by science or medicine. This is my experience dealing with very harsh reality of life.
