I had 'internet eyes' from staring too long at the screen especially when I also spend hours outdoors in hot, dry, windy weather. I got some 'artificial tears' from the pharmacy, which i used twice, remembered to blink my eyes more often, and in general it's o.k. now. But the second time I used the tears, they really stung. A friend told me to try 'eyebright', a herb. You make a very weak solution - just a pinch in a couple of ounces of boiling water, cool it - and wash your eyes with it. It worked very well and did not sting. Has anyone else tried either of these remedies?

No I have not heard that eyebright can be used to benefit internet eye. What can benefit it is to take a 5 minute break every half hour to 45 minutes, remember to blink of course, and buy a pair of clear UV protective lenses to wear while you work online. You may also opt get a UV screen for your computer. Here is an interesting article on computer vision syndrome.
the herb is actually quite good for all types of eye irritations or just eye health in general. You can buy the herb and make it into a tea tincture, but you can also purchase it in the tincture form with a little eye dropper.
Any health food/natural vitamin store would carry it - either under the name Eyebright Tincture or Euphrasia officinalis. It's good for sore and itchy eyes.
These sites were interesting and helpful. I learned that it should not be made in quantity and stored, but freshly made each time you use it, to prevent bacterial contamination of the 'tea'.
