I'm not really into alternative medicine, but I do have to kind of wonder about acupuncture. The indication that there's certain points on your body that affect certain areas of your health. How many times have you had an itch on your foot and felt it on your right shoulder, or various other places that seem to be tied to certain points?

I tried accupuncture to quit smoking. They gave me a list of foods I could and could not eat. It cost $75.00. They put a micro thin needle in both ears and one on each side of my nose. They attached wires running from the needles to a machine. There was a lot of vibration. It lasted about 30 minutes. So did I quit smoking? Nope... I smoked the next day. I was just out 75 bucks!

acupuncture is one of the few 'alternative' therapies to have been shown to work... at least somewhat. (for the most part, alternative therapies cease to be labelled 'alternative' once they are actually proven to work... after all, aspirin was derived from a plant). acupuncture has been shown to relieve pain better than the placebo effect accounts for.
I think when you talk about alternative medicine that you really need to check out who you are going to. Because they don't have as much reglatory rules for this and other alternative medicine. So in other words go to one that someone has been to that you know if at all possible.
