I have recently read quite a bit
about the supposed benefits of
salmon oil supplements. I was
curious if anyone here takes any.
What kind of results do you feel
you have gotten ? Have you
experienced any digestive side
effects of any sort ?

Thanks, Jim.

sorry, DS, but I haven't heard the word. I have, however, heard that shark oil has some pretty powerful benefits, particularly for Arthritis, but I have yet to try it. Guess I'd like to know from someone who has, both salmon and shark oil.

I started taking fish oil supplements for my hair. It helps with the texture. I've beent taking them for 6 months now. An added bonus is that I think it helped boost my immunity, which was lowered do to having to take prednisone repeatedly for asthma and bronchitis. I haven't had an asthma attack or bronchitis since I started taking the supplements. I have had the feeling a cold was coming on a couple of times, but it never seemed to come to fruition. I always take them at breakfast time, and I have never experienced any kind of indigestion from them.

When buying salmon oil supplements, choose brands that have 1-2 milligrams Vitamin E per gram of fish oil (Vitamin E helps to prevent the fish oil from going rancid). It also helps to keep the capsules in the fridge.

Thanks for the info. What kind do you take? Will any generic fish oil work? I've seen Fish oil at the store, but never shark or salmon.

Two years ago I had a bad case of eczema. I started taking fish oil. I buy a brand that is toxin free. I don't suffer from eczema anymore. It is good for the skin, hair and supports cardiovascular health. Wink

Well, I'm going to recommend it for my son, who has terrible eczema. My mom gave me some of her Omega 3 fish oil gel-caps, but I've only been taking them for 4 days. I'll post back in a month or so to let you know if I notice any changes.

Thank you, too, LaPisLaZuLi , for the good tips.

I hadd very dry skin nothing external would help.[see my address] I just happen to metion it in the health food store and they told me to get EFA's ,Essential fatty acid, or Omega 3,6,9. I get it in capsule form it helps with a # of things. I use it for my Crohn's and my colon I take Flax oil it is all 3.I tried fish oil I believe it is only Omega3. Flax oil in gelcap form I can take on an empty stomach( very sensitive due to Crohn's) and it does not bother me. when I tried the fish oil I could taste it. It really helped with my skin and also slowed my hair loss (the 16yrd old contributes to the loss, had to do something Big Grin0 Best in natural health!!!!!!! Carr

Try to get it at a health food store if you can they can better advise you than a grocery or discount store \. Also it may take about two weeks or so to take effect due to the way our skin grows. Hope this is of help. Carr

I don't quite get what you mean by this. Do you mean it's Omega 3, 6 & 9?
