A while ago I was reading about an herb that is used for "cleansing the head". I think I know what this means, but i am not too sure. If someone out there could clarify this for me and tell me what herb it could have been talking about and how to use it, I'd really appreciate it.

There are many herbal concoctions used to treat and cleanse the body.

Here are some sites for hair care:

http://www.herbveda.com/herbal-toiletries-cream-shampoo.htm

I am not sure if this is what you wanted, perhaps if you can give us a better idea of what you mean or want?

THIS site is interesting, mocoloco. I'm taking your "cleansing of the head" to mean mental state rather than hair care..... I may be wrong.

Herbs for cleansing the head are likely meant to clear the mind and help you focus. Off the top of my head, some herbs that come to mind are: ginkgo, skullcap, ginseng, dandelion, rue and rosemary.

Elexina, I have a little rosemary plant out back. I sometimes pluck a bit when I'm cooking. Can it be used to make tea or something? If so, how? How would it be used to cleanse the head?

I have a rosemary plant as well. Most people who don't like this herb is because they don't like the long stubs stuck in their teeth.

They DON'T need to be in this particular form.

When I harvest my rosemary, I dry it and then grind it in my coffee bean grinder to make a really nice fine asset to SOOOO many meals - especially lamb!

Tree's method is fine. For most herbs, you should pick them fresh and dry them upside down, then crush them and use them that way. You could place a bag of odiferous dried rosemary under your pillow, or sachets throughout the house. It can be used in potpourri, as its scent is relaxing. If you want to make a tea, you can get fabric tea bags or tea balls at health food stores and grocery stores to put the herb in, and pour boiling water over.
