Februarycat...try not to think of the disadvantages in terms of health disadvantages vs health benefits. I can't think of three off the top of my head, but an example may be meditation...the benefits would be that it creates a peace, reduces stress, decreases blood pressure, increases energy levels, etc...a disadvantage may be that it is difficult for many people to find the time to do it... Perhaps others will make additional suggestions. And welcome to the Pool  Lydia

Another relaxation technique could be "Hypnosis". A disadvantage would be you either need a second person to do it or specialized training to learn to do it for yourself.
A second disadvantage of Meditation could be you can be easily distracted and interrupt the process.
