I haven't slept in soo long! I've went to bed, closed my eyes and relaxed my muscles, but I haven't actually fallen asleep. I could lie in bed for 10 hours a night but not get a single minute of sleep. I toss and turn for several hours before finally falling into some kind of trance where I star at something and don't move. Before, I've tried taking sleep aids, but they never let me sleep, they just made me so tired that I couldn't even close my eyes. I don't eat or drink anything with caffeine or sugar before I go to sleep. Does anyone know of any ways to help me sleep without medication?

Well, I'm not sure why you aren't getting any sleep. I wish I had the magic cure.
On sleepless nights, I find myself thinking too much. Are you doing this? Try and clear your mind to absolutely nothing. Then, tense every single muscle you have in your body. Even muscles you don't normally use, like from your toes to your eye brows to the very top of your head. Yes, it can be done. Do this several times and relax, starting from your toes, going up. Then do it a few times and relax your body all at the same time. Doing this lets you know when your body is actually relaxed and when it's not. Most of the time, when people think they are relaxed...their shoulders are up to their ears.
Good luck, I hope you get some sleep soon.

I don't know if there are other factors involved here or if you are on other medications, but if you are having mood swings and serious sleeping trouble, you should definitely see your doctor for a diagnosis.
I will also recommend Herbal Sleep by Nature's Sunshine. It is a natural supplement of hops, valarian root and passionflower and works wonders. Just let your doctor know about it, though, if you do decide to take it.
