Is anyone aware of any altrnative therapies to alleviate Gallstones or dissolve them with a herbal remedy! I am petrified of operations as I had a bad reaction to a general anasthetic at 14 and will do anything to avoid this!

I've done a few thousand gallbladder operations, so......The problem is that people who form gallstones tend to keep forming them until the gallbladder is removed. There are pills that can dissolve them: the success rate is not high, and they most likely will recur after stopping them. I've seen many people who took some herbal remedy, involving oil and lemon juice and stuff - one even brought in the "stones" she passed after taking it. It wasn't stones, it was congealed oily stuff, and the stones were still there. The bottom line is that if a person is having trouble with gallstones, the only successful treatment is removing the gallbladder. The good news is that the vast majority of people get along perfectly without a gallbladder and are delighted with the result, because all it does is store bile: when it's removed, you still have bile, and we don't need to store it the way they did a few thousand years ago when they had to starve between meals til they made their next kill....
Finally, under rare circumstances a gallbladder can be removed under local anesthesia, but it's really not likely you'd find anyone willing to do it that way. In most cases nowadays, it's removed laparascopically, using 3 or 4 small holes, very often requiring no overnite stay at all. And anesthesia methods and drugs have improved a lot over the last years. Tell your anesthesiologist your history (if your operative records are available from the time you had a problem, that's helpful -- but not essential) and I'll bet you'll sail through and be glad you did it.

I hear what you are saying Sid but I don't believe it is necessary to be cut open if other methods could work and I believe that is a matter of nmind over matter! Also it may be that I don't like feeling out of control and its my bodies natural defence! I don't know how good drs are in America but here in London especially on the NHS they are next to useless and they don't listen! But thanks anyway I should be seeing a private consultant in Jan if my hubbys insurance covers it and I will go from there!

I have found that a good liver / gall bladder cleansing will clean out gallstones. Although I agree that there are pills that help dissolve them, they are much less effective.

I was diagnosed with gallstones. After undergoing the liver / gall bladder cleansing, I no longer have problems.

You can find detailed instructions on liver cleansing at http://www.the-natural-path.com/liver-cleanse.html

I hope it helps.
