I haven't heard of anything that is as good as ritalin, and of course you would need to check with your doctor before taking any herbal supplement, as it may interfer with other mediation you are taking. That being said, I heard that the herb Gotu Kola, from India, can help with mild to moderate ADHD, espeically in children; it is used also in Ayurveda medicine. Valerian, taken as tea, can also help, though it makes some people sluggish, and some people suggest that eating pine nuts may have a mild effect, especially on the attention deficit part of the disorder. This website has a good explanation of herbal as well as other alternative treatments for ADD.
