I will soon be studying german and italian. The translators that I have found on the internet do not seem very good. Does anyone know of a reliable one?

I would also like to purchase good, but inexpensive, dictionaries in these two languages for use at home. Are they all the same in quality?

I am not certain of the dictionaries to recommend for German and/or Italian, but since there have been no responses here, thought I'd post the info I do have.

The following URL brings you to a number of options for a wide variety of languages. They give descriptions of these dictionaries (online, CD as well as hard copy books). I hope this info is at least helpful for you in your decision.

Another place to look is at the following site:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/11572/ref%3Dbr%5Fdp%5F/102-5243284-0758549

here - you will have the ability to look at customer reviews on specific books.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I really recommend Larousse books and dictionaries. Berlitz also has good material.

I found a good translator at www.babylon.com. you can choose from many languages.

Good luck!
