I planned on attending a Workshop for Interpreters of the Deaf this summer in Austin, Texas in order to get my interpreter's lisence. However, I was not accepted because I am not an interpreter aid. Being an interpreter would allow me to have a great job during college doing something I enjoy. But since I cannot go to this workshop, how else can I go about getting an interpreter liscense?
