In which country would you find a model of the Solar System with the planets and their separations to scale -- and eight miles long?

The Lakeview Museum Community Solar System is centered in Peoria, Illinois, USA. The scale is 42 feet = 1 million miles. It's listed in the Guinness Book as the world's largest model solar system.

According to the article linked above, Saturn is located at a distance of 8 miles from the 36-foot-diameter sun at the center; Uranus at 15 miles; Neptune at 23 miles; and Pluto (now a non-planet) at 40 miles and only one inch in diameter! The earth is 4 inches in diameter and located 3/4 mile from the sun.

Interesting Prof. certainly worth a stop. It seems that it totals 92.7 miles long though, quite far from the 8 miles of my question.

But thanx for bringing this on. Smile

Hint: an 8 mile walk along the ridge with models of the planets along the way. These are scaled down in true porportion to the solar system.
