According to The New York Times some animals snore said manager of the mammal collections if the Bronx Zoo.
"Some that we have observed are dogs, gorillas and bears," she said.

Also tranquilzed elephants snore source and apparently so do rabbits.

I also found reference on the site rarespecies.org Many animals have been observed snoring occasionally, including dogs, cats, cows, oxen, sheep, buffaloes, elephants, camels, lions, leopards, tigers, gorillas, chimpanzees, horses, mules, zebras and elands.

Dogs certainly dream. You may have seen yours "chasing rabbits", as we say. The dog bares its teeth and its paws and legs twitch, as though fighting or chasing prey.It can only be acting out some dream sequence. Quite often the dog squeaks or 'whimpers' when doing this. Pups do this more than adults: it may be to do with their having an actively developing brain. Just as they practise the skills of the adult when playing and play-fighting so they may be having a practice in their sleep Smile

As to snoring, many a dog does that. What's more the snoring seems to get louder with age, just as it does with humans. The 14 year old poodle here is an accomplished snorer whereas his young descendants manage barely a whiffle !

Fred,
Well I can understand it that a 14 year old dog snores. But this guy here has been snoring pretty loud since he was a puppy and he's nine now. Wink
He started snoring after his accident, following which, he had to have a front leg amputated.
Incidentally, his name is Fred too! Big Grin
So now, not only does he snore but he whimpers and twitches his stump when he sleeps!
I think he's having dreams alright..phantom limb dreams Big Grin
Yes, he's pretty pathetic but i love him!
