One of the more unfortunate aspects of eating garlic and onion is that continuing taste and odor on your breath. Why does this happen?

Onions and Garlic will create bad breath instantly. It's because, on a molecular basis, they already contain the same odorous sulphur compounds (Mercaptans) produced by these bacteria.

yes, you are right.. but more detail please..

Why does the bad breath stay with you so long? Why doesn't brushing teeth help?

Perhaps because the Sulfur Producing Bacteria normally live at the bottom surface layer of your tongue, mostly toward the back portion or dorsum of your tongue? Brushing teeth won't help.

Actually, the oils contained in those foods go into the blood and then cycles into the lungs... that is what continues the bad breath for a while.

And this is also why, when you eat garlic or strong spices like curry, the odor can even exhude from the sweat and oil glands on your skin. If bad breath weren't enough, now you have to deal with stinky skin!

But the garlic keeps mosquitos away. It also helps keep dog flea-free.

And Georgia, whose family bloodline from the "old country" cannot tolerate garlic, must have exceptionally good breath!
