Bhaskaracharya calculated the time taken by the earth to orbit the sun hundreds of years before the astronomer Samrat. Time taken by earth to orbit the sun: (5th century) 365.258756484 days.

Yes,Bhaskara (1114-1185), also called Bhaskara II and Bhaskara Achārya ("Bhaskara the teacher"). Good answer Jenny, except that the site where you picked the answer from,made an error about the "5th Century". Bhaskara lived in the 12th Century.
