My memory and belief is that Venus and Uranus are the only planets that spin CLOCKWISE. All of the remaining planets spin COUNTER-CLOCKWISE (when looking down on them from their North Poles). If you consider for a moment that our sunrise is in the east, then you know that the Earth spins in a counter-clockwise direction!

Early thinkers about the nebular hypothesis were stumped by some odd things: Although most of the planets, including Earth, spin in the same direction (counterclockwise when viewed from the solar system's "north"), Venus and Pluto spin clockwise. And Uranus spins sideways! - Washington State University
