OK - - this "quiz" is about two "parts" of the body.......

1) What body part(s) are exactly the same size that it/they will be for your entire life (you are born with it/them already full sized).

2) What body part(s) continues to grow everyday until the day you die? confused

hmmmmm...I guess it is very possible that it is fully grown, but more likely similar to an empty file cabinet - - what goes in is collected along the way...

think about it - - if both your nose and your earlobes continue to grow, it is very likely that your nose won't keep up with your earlobes - - quite possibly the best news you've gotten all day!!!!!

My guess for same size is the eyes and for continuing growth I'll go with hair/nails.

Here's something more reliable:
"...the only bones in the body that are the same size from birth to death - the anvil, the hammer, and the stirrup."

what thing or things remain the same size...hmmmmmmm? Well in my case the things that i was born with that are the same size now as they were then would have to be the boobs. No really I just don't know that one. I think your nose and ears might be the things that never stop growing. I considered hair, but that definitely stops growing on some people. Could it be fingernails and toenails? Don't keep me watitng too long for the answer, these things drive me nuts. roll eyes

Nose and ear cartilage can continue to grow as we age.

the iris may change it's size as well as it's color. What we are talking about in terms of it being the "full size" is the eyeball itself - the entirety, not a part of the eye.....

I'm trying to find the info, but can't seem to find it - it was actually a scientist on a talk radio station I heard the info from.....

And i thought it was the brain. Guess it grows but some people just don't use it more. Renee, got a good laugh from your answer. Even if it was true so what.

I believe I know the answers.

An organ that stays around the same size? Definatly the eyeballs, they stay around the same size forever, saw a documentarey on it a few years ago.

An organ that never stops growing? Not the skin, Adults don't grow after a certain age, some shrink
instead. Not hair either, some people go bald. I'd have to say... toenails and fingernails, EVERYONE has to clip them off when they grow long.

Did I just win the million? LOL! big grin big grin big grin big grin big grin

The chances are my nose will reach my ears before it gets to my chin...God forbid if I ever get a face lift! All this information today is making me dizzy...could be the weight of my nose, though. big grin big grin big grin

1) What body part(s) are exactly the same size that it/they will be for your entire life (you are born with it/them already full sized).

ANSWER: The ossicles in your ears--the hammer (malleus), the anvil (incus), and the stirrup (stapes).

2) What body part(s) continues to grow everyday until the day you die?

ANSWER: Your skin (and nails and hair)??

Hey Lydia, in your research did it say WHY the nose continues to grow...it's odd when it seems there is no real use for the continued growth. Humm, yes, mine DOES look bigger...in another 10 years it will have covered my face...oh, I can't wait!!! eek eek eek

Definately the eyes are full sized when we are born. And cartilage in ears and noses grow as we age. Nails and hair (which are mainly protein) grow until death but it is a misnomer that they continue to grow after death (it's merely the surrounding skin that shrinks up due to dehydration that gives teh appearance nails and hair continue to grow) Yes, I know, that wasn't part of the question, just thought I'd throw that statment in for grins! razz

The combination of their answers look pretty good to me - eyes staying the same, ears and noses growing.

Your eyes (eyeballs) are exactly as they will be throughout your life.....they do not grow or change size at all - the eyelids and sockets may change, but the balls are the balls.....

Your nose continues to grow no matter how old you get - - ever notice that old men and women always have that bit that hangs down at the end of their nose (VERY pretty - - can't wait for that!!!).

Someone said ears - - I think that may be true for the earlobes as well, but I don't know that for certain....

I laughed so hard at your comment - - nothing more attractive than a woman who can touch her chin with the tip of her nose huh?????

It didn't say why it continues to grow - - just that it does.....I think cause it's just cartilidge and gravity - - it probably just gets loose and the skin makes room for it - - NOW THAT does sound attractive huh?

the myth about eyes not growing from birth used to show up from time to time on Jeeves. It's patently false; look at a baby and check the size of the iris. Then look at the nearest adult. It's obvious the adult is larger. How that myth has the "legs" it does is beyond mystifying. As to ear ossicles, I can't say it's untrue that they remain at birth size, but it seems strange. And the only reference to it I could find was in a Christian creationist website. Does the brain grow in size? Absolutely. A no-brainer, as it were. However, the number of neurons does not increase.
