Maybe you meant "Aristotles" instead od Socrates? Then the answer would be Zeno of Elea.

Yep you're right, I meant to say "what pre-socratic did Aristotle call the inventor of the dialectic"........ (Called by Aristotle the inventor of the dialectic, he is best known for his paradoxes)

always did have trouble keeping my philosophers straight......LOL......thanks!!
