Does everyone that lives in england have co.uk after their email addy like we have .com? Or can they have .com too? I need to know for domains like compuserve and yahoo. Thanks

Hi BandaiJ I have an Aol address which is a ".com" All my Uk Aol friends are ".coms" too As for Yahoo mine is a"co.uk" despite registering on Yahoo.com(I think it "senses" where you are coming from(and auto-allocates the country code if appropiate) I have anothers on Lycos and Exite.com Same thing happened there. It does make "reverse" mailing finding difficult when dealing with email with and without the ".coms" there are the odd 1 or 2 smaller UK ISPs which use the ".net" as well as ".com "& "co.uk" Tags for emails (I think it's a marketing ploy(try to build a big memberbase with personalised addys endings)

Yes, it's not that clearcut, unfortunately. My e-mail is ".com". My address book contains ".com"s from all over the place, as well as ".net" and ".co.uk". It also contains a ".net" from Kentucky, so not all the USA is ".com".
That's not to mention ".ca" from Canada and ".za" from South Africa.

There are actually dozens of .___ in use in the US, among them org, us, info, biz, tv, cc. If you're curious, go to a site that sells domains and see what the choices are. Some domain registers let you pick your own, so I might choose catty@home.com.
