I have recently changed from Mailwasher free version, which started going funny, to Mailwasher Pro to catch e-mail nasties before opening them. I also find now that I cannot receive pictures in messages that I allow through the Mailwasher stage.
I am running Outlook Express 6 in Win XP Home. I have gone through the settings in "Options" and cannot find anything set wrong. My system is set to use Rich Text (HTML) and the option to receive messages in plain text only is not checked.
My ISP, I know, will not allow messages containing a lot of pictures, I suppose because that makes too big a file. However, someone has sent a test message with just one picture, a .jpg of 800 x 600 pixels, which should cause no trouble at all. All I can see is the dreaded red X box.
Has anyone any ideas?

I am probably way out, but try tools/options/security, make sure that 'do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" is not ticked. Maybe mailwasher has switched that on somehow.
Thanks, 50p. I'm a great one myself for stressing not to overlook the simple silly things. I had looked at that setting, and it is not ticked. Besides, I'm asking about a picture in the body of a message, not an attachment.
That's the next thing to try, for my friend to send a picture as an attachment and see what happens.
One possible clue. I had not marked my friend as a friend in Mailwasher's language. The message with the 800 x 600 .jpg was marked by Mailwasher as possible spam or a possible virus (I can't remember which) and already flagged for bouncing and deletion. I wonder if it automatically blocked the picture at that stage and cannot now allow it, even though I have now put my friend in the official "Friends List".

Update. Putting the sender on the Friends list didn't help, but picture files, even 5 - 6 Mb ones, come through fine as attachments. Then, once I have opened the attachment, I can also see the pictures at the foot of the message.
I'm still baffled.
