I know some of you use hotmail, is it possible to forward messages to another email address? If so, can you tell me how to do it?

All thanks possible.

If you have the "classic version" of hotmail ( like I think you have), you have to click on the message to be forwarded first and then you will see "forward" on the page (top).

If you use the "full version" (like the one I have) the "forward" sign is right there in front of you .

You can switch to the full version by scrolling down the page and click at the bottom where it says in blue : "try the full version of windows live hotmail". (it's free too)

Is it possible to do POP from here
That is send the Message to Say Gmail(which has an easy to set up POP Forwarding all you Do is specify the destination email box. and Gmail sorts out where it goes like a big automated Mail sort center Smile Have many of my Notifications routed through here
All the email is retained as does any "bounce"
record. The person at the other end only sees the gmail address, but can see your original address if they open up the header
and as a bonus it does get Double filtered for any virus Cool

PS They are running Tests on New features for Gmail (added the other day) And they are open to everyone . There are 17 items to look at.

I did some investigating and HotMail is NOT enabled for POP Frown

This posting has some suggestions How to route it via another service (no date) they suggest www.Apocgraphy.com/ which I do Not Think is a Free service when I looked in on it (I've never heard of it)

No reference to Gmail(My recommendation) so it must be old

Did see this in the answer which may be of some use
quote:
Email forwarding is one of the few features that Hotmail and Live Mail do support, and it can be accessed by navigating to Options->Manage your account->Forward mail to another e-mail account.
That is the first stage of getting it delivered successfully if you examine that feature and have POP waiting at the other email program to send it on, otherwise it lands in that account

Thats Ok , the Infomation will be good for somebody else

Only other service I think you can try is Yahoo! under the "classic interface" Options > Mail options> POP Access and Forwarding link
quote:
Use Yahoo! as your permanent email address. Forward to another mail account, or download your Yahoo! messages to your POP3 mail client.

Is a simple to do task Biggest Headache is the address box. where does it go to? Roll Eyes
The new interface has not been updated

From the information page
quote:
In order to read your Yahoo! Mail an external email client (such as Eudora, Outlook, Netscape, etc.), you will need to configure the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) server settings so that it can send and receive messages from your Yahoo! Mail account. Generally, you can find these settings under the Tools or Preferences menus for your particular email program.

Important: Do not delete your incoming mail settings
If you are already receiving mail from another mail server (such as incoming mail to your address at your ISP), you will need to add a new POP account. Sometimes this is called a new "profile," sometimes a new "personality," depending on your email client. If your email client only allows you to receive mail from one POP server at a time, make sure you write down your current settings before you replace them with Yahoo! Mail settings so that you can change them back if you need to

I've had my Yahoo enail account for it must be almost 9 years since I started surfing and in recent years has improved (Spam is Well down)

and is currently trapping all my DP notification Posts via POP from Gmail

State of Play as I post this ...Just whistle
quote:
Welcome Michael!
You have 20549 unread messages:
No kidding! That's back to the Begining of 2007 (have deleted before that )

Unknown what the size of the Mailbox stands at Was 2GB in 2007 But they abolished that and say it is now "unlimited" From Elsewhere

Roll on 40 K forwarded postings Smile
