I have a question that is bothering me.

I cannot receive or send E-Mail with my regular setup when I have it set up as my default. However I can receive & send in the hotmail mode when it is my default.

However In the Hotmail or regular Mode I can not receive any E-Mail from my children!

What do I need to do to correct this?

address_removed@msn.com

(Please don't put your email address in posts. If someone wants to email you, they can find your address by clicking on your username and going to your profile, assuming you chose to provide it)

Good to "see" you again, donaldekliros, it's been a while. In order to try to answer your question, I think we're going to need more information from you about your email setup.

In the title, you refer to Outlook Express. I assume that your primary email account is through you Internet Service Provider. And you mention Hotmail. Hotmail can be received through Outlook Express, or as Web mail using Internet Explorer.

Finally you mention msn.com. MSN has it's own browser that includes email. Are you talking about the MSN account as being your main (default) account?

When you mention "default" setup, there are two different ways the default is set. First, in Outlook Express/Tools/Accounts if there are two or more email accounts setup, one has to be set as "Default". That account is then the account that "Sent" mail is sent from, unless you manually select the other account(s).

Secondly, the Internet Options applet in the Control Panel, Programs tab Email is where you designate your default email. (Also available in Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Programs)

Or you can give this a try:
In Outlook Express, click Accounts on the Tools menu.
Click the Mail tab, click the Hotmail account, and then click Properties.
Click the Server tab, and then change the HTTP Server URL to the following Web address:
http://oe.hotmail.com/secure/hmdata

Click Apply, and then click OK.

The original setting for the HTTP Server URL is:
http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp

So if does not work you can isert the original back.

Bazcaz:

I tried both of your URL's under Hotmail and nothing happened to help me.

I believe the problem I have is more fundamental than the typing of an URL, whether it be under Hotmail or Outlook Express.

It seems to be the way that the E-Mail program is required to be setup.

I have to admit I am dumbfounded on the setup of E-Mail.
