1. Any anti-virus program is only effective if it is kept up-to-date with frequent virus information updates. McAfee calls these downloads ".dat" files. I update my anti-virus program every day. You didn't mention the program version of McAfee that you're running, but I suggest you look for a program called "McAfee Scan Central" in your Start/Programs menu. Open it and then click the "Update" button and download any .dat file updates. This link may help with the details: "How do I update my McAfee Virus Scan?"2. Mail.yahoo.com will show you the "Norton" anti-virus scan option when you receive an email that has an attachment. You will see three "Open" choices: 1. Scan with Norton Anti-Virus 2. Save Attachment to your hard drive (so you can scan it locally, before opening) 3. Open the attachment without scanning (very dangerous, unless you're absolutely sure the attachment is not infected). A fourth option, of course is to just delete the attachment without opening it. I hope this helps!
I hope yours is a great day!
