Near the top left of the welcome screen, it says "folders" and then lists the folders. Click on the word folders. This should bring up a list of the folders in the center of the screen, along with the option of renaming or deleting any that you have created (you can't alter the ones that are their by default, such as the inbox).
Sorry, methos, it doesn't. Maybe you haven't been there for a while. When I right-click on "My folders" I get a menu but there's no option to delete or anything like that in it. Left-clicking only opens the folder. ???

I actually tried it out today just before posting to be sure it would work. The delete option should be just to the right of the folder. IVNJ's link from Yahoo gives the same instructions as I gave.
As I said, there are certain folders that cannot be deleted (Inbox, Draft, Sent, Bulk, & Trash), are you trying to delete one of these?
I think i figured out what you are doing wrong. Are you clicking on my folders? Don't. Click on folders, way at the top of the list, above the inbox.
Catty Any deletable folder in the email area is to be found listed under the TRASH Bin in the FOLDERS area Nothing there... then there is nothing to delete. Can empty both the Trash and Bulk Mail from here. Bulk Mail Is instant Delete (all spam ect .) click on "Options" link to set preferences. Note: If your "to be deleted"folders appear in the "My folders" area of the menu they can only be removed by clicking on the "Folders" link at the top of the menu. And going back to the beginning of this post.
From INVJs link:
quote: Please note:You can't remove or rename the permanent folders in your account. These folders include Inbox, Sent, Draft, and Trash.

Sorry, invj. When I click on "My Folders" the address bar reads
"http://us.f130.mail.yahoo.com/ym/ShowFolder?YY=48886&.first=1&box=Inbox&YN=1" and it goes and it goes and it goes and goes and goes and goes and nothing happens and I get tired of waiting and it doesn't work.
A good idea, for all that. And I did find a way to contact Yahoo, which I had never been able to discover. Thank you. Catty

Yes, indeed, that's what I was doing. How perverse of me to think that "Folders" applied to those which could not be deleted, and "My folders" to those which could be deleted! HAHAHAHAHAH!
Has the world EVER been ruled by logic?
Thank you all.
