I am having a problem getting emails forwarded from one address to another. They say I have "exceeded my forwarding quota." Does anyone know what the "quota" is? I have asked MSN Support, but they keep blowing me elsewhere.

Thanks for any help.

I have an idea the server is flagging up a sort of "spam alert" message It "assumes" you are sending an excess on CC & BCC posts...am I guessing right Catty?

Solution.. You have still got that Gmail account Catty?

They have come up with a remote Post box on Gmail where you can compose, send and recieve mail in the Gmail account from other email accounts and it fools the MSN server into thinking Its legit...You post using the same screename and password On Google and you are allowed up to 5 accounts to be routed there

I have posted full instructions and details on this Computer Magazine Forum (where I post my computer tips and Pinch a few to post here) Smile

And as its 2 separate features You can set it to recieve and another to Post...Though with both working together is become quite powerful...Setup will only take you a few moments with the Wizard Smile

Bedstor, I am not sending any carbon copies. The error message is from Gmail - warns against a "mail loop." Does that help?

I have not actually explored all Gmail's possibilities, so it may be it's more valuable than it seems to me at this point. I want my email address (rand493) to be my primary, without showing it all over the Net. Thus all these different addresses.

I looked at the recommended page, but doesn't seem to apply to my situation.

Thanks for posting.

I found this on the Gmail forum
quote:
Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, because the
message was forwarded more than the maximum allowed times. This could
indicate a mail loop.

The message indicates that it has been stopped because It has been forwarded too many Times and the security has blocked it ...Makes sense ...Only way to continue is to copy and paste it and send it off again but with your mail address as the Primary sender in other words a "New" mail Roll Eyes

Makes good sense to me, and demonstrates show a decent email program Halts chained emails
That's why we Never see these now Smile

Even I have learnt something today Smile

What is it exactly that you're doing? "getting emails forwarded from one address to another" is kinda ambiguous.

Are you forwarding emails to a large group of people? (Which would trip outgoing anti-spam/anti-chainletter filters, as Bedstor mentioned)

Are you trying to move MSN email into Gmail? If so, are you doing it manually? (Another spam trip) or having Gmail download the messages via POP? (Possible misconfiguration)

Having the full text of the error would also be helpful.

And as I told bedstor, I have not sent out a bunch of emails. No bulk mailing, no spam, no copies sent anywhere.

Let's try to make it less ambiguous. I have three email addresses at gate.com, where my domain is hosted. I'd like mail that comes in to those addresses to be forwarded to my MSN emailbox. Is that more clear?

In any case, I think I will have to take this up with gate, as I believe the message came from them.

Thanks for all help.
