I have been getting notifications via digest for the last two weeks or so, but they look like this:

Email Digest for 02-03-07 for AnswerPool.com BODY { scrollbar-arrow-color:FFffff; scrollbar-track-color:ffffff; scrollbar-shadow-color:111111; scrollbar-face-color:4444ee; scrollbar-highlight-color:777777; scrollbar-darkshadow-color:000000; scrollbar-3dlight-color:FFffff; } // function DTest() { if (navigator.appName == "Netscape") { t = document.getSelection(); opennewdictwin(t); } else { t = document.selection.createRange(); if(document.selection.type == 'Text' && t.text != '') { opennewdictwin(t.text); } } } function opennewdictwin(texx) { if (texx ''){ if (confirm("For Merriam-Webster's definition of "+texx+ " click OK")) { var newwin = window.open('http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va='+texx,'dictionary',

and more. What can I do about this?

Thanks for any help.

It looks as if you have a notification for a dictionary thread. Try this:

Click on Go- Personal Zone- Notifications (red flag). Delete any notifications related to a dictionary thread.

Hi Clarebear:

Thanks for that suggestion. I believe you must have meant "Delete any subscriptions related to a dictionary thread." I only had three, none of them obviously a "dictionary" thread. I don't think this can be right, because at the very bottom (which I stupidly didn't include) is a reply from someone at AP. I had posted a link to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, maybe that's what made you think of a "dictionary" thread.

Or have I misunderstood?

You get notified (notification) when someone replies to your thread. You can do this by
Delivery Preferences:
Daily Email Digest
Weekly Email Digest
Immediate Notification by Email Immediate Notification by Email

You just got notified of the message above. I don't' know if that is called a subscription. Whatever it is called digest, subscription, notification- just delete it. I think you should delete the one with the dictionary reply. This is the one giving you the weird error. I thought of dictionary because it is in the message you posted.

quote:
...Merriam-Webster's definition of "+texx+ " click OK")) { var newwin = window.open('http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va='+texx,'dictionary',

Catty does receive her e-mail digest notification, but something on her computer isn't 'reading' it correctly and the message is displayed as she showed in her original post.

Her question is; what needs correcting on her computer so that she can read the e-mail?

It may be her e-mail provider rather than her computer at fault, as many of her notifications have been returned to us as 'spam'. Would this affect the message as shown above if the e-mail 'got through'?

I hope this helps the confusion!

It looks like the message is a code. On any page, if you view-> page source, you will see the same type of message displayed. If you are in IE, go to view-> encoding. Make sure it is set to Unicode (UTF-8) It may be the caused by having an older browser. See here

More on encoding

If this isn't right, Dwight will set me straight. I know I'm on the right track. LOL
