Hi people, just wanted to ask if anyone has any idea why when I sign into Yahoo, then go into my Yahoo email, sometimes when I click any button in there, my pc suddenly restarts without warning! I have uninstalled and re-installed Yahoo messenger several times, but this is the first time it has done this, (never has done it during any of the other times it has been installed). This is a new problem, only happening in the last two or three weeks. I have done a virus scan, and Ad Aware scan, and every conceivable Norton Utilities 2002 scan, and corrected anything that was wrong. I have even went to www.pcpitstop.com, and done a complete set of tests, to no avail. Should I uninstall again, and re-install? Are there any other ideas out there? Thanks for your responses!

but I'm wondering if a "Pop-Up" ad may be crashing your system. Are you running any kind of "Pop-up" stopper program? If so, try disabling it and checking again with Yahoo.com.
If you're not running any kind of "Pop-up" stopper, try the opposite extreme by setting your Internet Security to "high".
You can do this by clicking Tools (In Internet Explorer), then "Internet Options". Click the "Security" tab and set your Internet Zone security setting to "High".
Try going to Yahoo.com and see if this makes any difference.
Like I say, this is just a guess. I hope it will be of some help!

Dwight, Thanks for your response, I do run the Pop up stopper program, I'm not sure if I had it on when I logged into yahoo the times my pc re-started or not, but its a good possibility. I'll pay attention to that next time I go into it. Thanks again, and I'll let you know what happens.

Thank you for the ideas, I tried all that, and could not tell much difference, so I uninstalled yahoo messenger,(again), and this time, have not put it back yet.I may try to install it once more, if I feel like battling it again. I'll see what happens then, LOL.

Heckfar! I just got rid of it, since I dont have any contacts that bother to keep in touch anyway! I have the other messengers that I need, (icq and msn), I dont bother with AOL, because I had no contacts on it. I rarely even use icq anymore. lol
