Can someone please help me again??? My Outlook Express can send and receive e mail. But I cannot create a new e mail or open the ones I have received (new or old). When I try to compose or open a mail it tells me 'Sorry, there's been an error, can't do that'. It doesn't tell me what the error is or how to fix it or anything. I've got IE6, OE5, Win98SE. Boo hoo, what's happening to my computer???

I suggest you try running the Internet Explorer Repair Tool. Outlook Express is provided as a part of I.E. and in some cases the repair tool can fix O.E. issues.
1. Click Start 2. Click Run 3. Type: msinfo32 4. Click OK 5. In the MS Systems Information window, click the "Tools" menu, Internet Explorer Repair Tool command. 6. Run the tool and restart the computer when prompted. 7. Once the restart is complete, open your O.E. and see if that fixed the problem.
If the problem still exists after running the repair tool, then I suggest you uninstall/reinstall the O.E. portion of the I.E. installation. To do that, go to: 1. Start 2. Settings 3. Control Panel 4. Add-Remove Programs 5. Windows Setup Tab 6. Uncheck the Outlook Express listing and click OK 7. Restart your computer, then go back to the Add-Remove Programs utility and recheck the O. E. option. OK the window and the O.E. will be reinstalled.
Note: Please be prepared to reset your O.E. mail settings: 1. Display Name 2. POP3 or HTTP Mail Setting 3. SMTP Mail Setting 4. Username 5. Password One thing you could do before uninstalling the O.E. is to “Export” your O.E. settings, then after reinstall “Import” those values back in. To do that: 1. Open O.E. 2. Click Tools 3. Click Email Accounts (or just “Accounts”) 4. Select the Mail tab 5. Highlight your email account 6. Click the “Export” button 7. Name and save the “.iaf” file 8. After the reinstall of the O.E. program, go back to email accounts and use the “import” button to reset all the email values.
I hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply again Dwight. I tried both of these and when I restarted it gave me a message to say I had to reinstall IE. I've done that, so now I have IE6 and OE6, seems okay at the moment....... Fi
