XP and the butterfly.

I got a message saying my block senders list was full. Please remove some. I went there and looked at all the check boxes, which I apparently must check off one by one to empty the thing. Help was no help (normal for MSN), no other solutions offered. Spam is building up in my junk mail - HELLLLLP!

Thank you.

I see what you mean It is a struggle to find it Mad
But I did.. Razz
First of all instructions off the Online Help

quote:
To add or remove names from your Block Sender List, go to the Options page, and then click Mail. Click Junk E-Mail Protection, and then click Block Senders to show your Block Sender List. Use the Add and Remove buttons to change the list.

It then took me several minutes to find that Red Face

In basic English Open the Mail page then look for the Options link on right hand top corner of the window
Not the very top that leads to the Help page index
The next page has all the info you require Catty (I have looked around and marked the places you need below Cool )

Help directions and location should be top priority but MSN forgot that Frown

I suggest you look at the 3rd 4th & 5th items down on the list, and you can block and allow things at your leisure should be easy to do from here Smile
Warning: If this is on any other page than the Mail page the Option links will be entirely different Frown Confused
So watch out for that Smile

Thank you, bedstor. Unfortunately, my page is entirely different. There are no "add" "remove" buttons, only a long list of senders with check boxes beside them. To delete, you must check each one - a long, and tedious process - and then click on "delete." I know there is a way to select them all ("Edit/select all" doesn't work) because I did it once, but can't remember.

If you want to be selective and delete blocks of names try this Trick..works on many lists
Hold the CTRL key(either of the keys under the Shift keys) down while highlighting an entry (with a mouse click )you wish to remove..and keep clicking... Wink
Then when you have got all the
"to be deleted" names highlighted
Keep that Key pressed! Move your mouse pointer to the delete key or what have you? and press it... those entries are History Cool
Continue until your list looks like the way you want it Wink
If there is No delete keys and you have to go to right click for delete this can be done so long as you keep the CTRL key depressed

Read your post again
when you said "tick boxes" I wonder if at the top of the "tick box" column, there is an extra tick box ,but not against an item? Roll Eyes Lycos and Yahoo both have this in their Email Service.
Ticking this box ticks the visible list All you have to do is untick your "Keeps" and delete the rest. WinkShouldn't take you long Razz
Is this what you wanted? Smile

catty, there is no point in blocking individual user names. Far better to block Domain Names the bit after the @

Obviously don't block from KNOWN domains such as hotmail or yahoo etc

Thank you dear Put! But how is it done? My junk filter filters them out and adds them to the block sender list automatically. How do I get it to block domains?

That's what I want, bedstor dear, but it isn't there. Sorry! If I knew how to do a screen shot, I would send you an image.

Dear bedstor. What's the difference between clicking each one individually while holding the CTRL key down and clicking each one individually while not holding it down? You still have to click on each one. Or did I misunderstand you? I did try "shift" "CTRL" and "Alt" each in conjunction with the cursor, but that did nothing.

I may have to contact MSN - God forbid!

You're a great guy, bedstor dear.

Don't touch the Shift or ALT keys they do nothing
Try keeping your finger on the Ctrl key and double click the item to delete and this will be highlighted then select the delete removal key or button whatever its called and press the Return key(may even delete with the Backspace key? Roll Eyes)

Just had a thought Catty is there any way to select the Items to edit them. Or, is there an edit button? Was thinking if you can do that all you have to do is blank the names and the program may decide they are deleted (far fetched but worth a try?) Roll Eyes

Oh my dear bedstor, that is what I've been asking for all along. I thought I made it clear - I am looking for a way to select them all so I can delete them all at once, but there is no option to do that. Apparently MSN feels you will change your mind about some of the blocked people on the block sender's list after a time.

OK, friends, here's the solution. The block sender's list can be deleted all at once, but it must be done through hotmail, for those of you still clinging to MS.

You're welcome!
