I'm currently on vacation visiting my parents, and would like to check my work email, since I'll be here for a while. My parents have a Macintosh OS X, and I'm not familiar with Macs.
Here's my problem. When I try to view my email on Explorer 5 Macintosh Edition, I can get to the main page, but when I type in my username and password, the page simply reloads the main page again. I can't get into my actual email account.
For a while, Netscape 7.1 was working, but it behaved weirdly. I would type in my work email address (say, something like "mail.workemail.country"). The first time, it worked great - I got in and got my email. The second time, the page came up with an address like this:
mailserver1.workemail.country/mail/enter?domain=default&style=default&err=24
It then began flashing again and again as though someone were hitting the "reload" button over and over, never actually loading the main page. I hit "stop" and erased the last few characters. Miraculously, this worked.
The next time, the same thing happened, so I deleted the same characters. Didn't work. I deleted one more character, and then it worked. However, after doing this several times (each time deleting one more character), the page no longer accepts any changes - I guess I wore out all of the alternative ways of typing the address acceptably. The computer only seems to allow each option 1 time, then doesn't allow me to enter the next.
I then discovered that by changing "mailserver1" to "mailserver2" I could get my email, but again, it only worked the first time, then started flashing.
I also used "mailserver3" and got the same results.
"Mailserver" by itself leads me nowhere, as does "mailserver4."
Now I've run out of alternative ways to type the address, and can't access my email. Any ideas?
