I am having trouble getting rid of old email. My email account is with AOL.When i've read the email i delete it but it still appears on my personal filing cabinet,so then i go to "recently deleted email" and press the permanently delete email button, but it still appears on my personal filing cabinet so i have to delete each email individually this envolves highlighting each email, then clicking delete, then the "are you sure you want to delete this" button, this takes forever.Am I doing something wrong? Why can't i highlight and delete all the email in one go?

I use AOL, too, and I think you may have it set up to automatically store every email you receive or send in your Filing Cabinet.

Go to Settings, Preferences, Filing Cabinet, and uncheck the boxes that say "automatically retain all mail I receive/send in my personal filing cabinet." Then click Save.

As for deleting multiple things, you can by holding down the Ctrl. key and clicking on each one -- they will all be highlighted and can be deleted in one swoop.
