On July 25th 1962, the Bell System's "Skyphone" air-to-ground public telephone service opened for commercial airline use for the first time when TWA introduced the service on an experimental basis.

And 30 years later -
In 1992 Air Canada became the first airline in the world to offer all its customers telephones at arm's reach on all of its aircraft.
