hey all,
im going on a 5 week holiday to germany and former yugoslavia to visit family in about 3 weeks and i wanted to take my laptop along.

is this a bad idea? i mean, im sure plenty of people do it, but i was wondering whether i should take it as my carry-on luggage or not, to avoid it being stolen/thrown around and broken and whatnot.

thanks]

Yes,always take it in your carry-on luggage (and keep an eye on it when in the airports too Wink). Be prepared to open it at every single security check so have it handy, not buried in some bag Smile. You must surely have insurance for this trip. Do check the terms of it to see whether they exclude or restrict claims for the loss, theft or damage to laptops/ notebook computers and, if so, to what extent .You may need to add insurance cover for it.
