My husband and I want to take my mother to Alaska in 2005.

I would love recommendations on cruise lines and the best month to go.

We don't want to go on a cruise where you have to get really dressed up to eat. My husband doesn't want to wear a tuxedo on his vacation!

I live outside Fairbanks. The most cruises I see coming through are Princess (you fly into the Fairbanks International Airport and then bus to the port in Valdez). They aren't overly dressy. Here is the site for Princess' Alaskan cruises.

There are also one day and three day cruises from Valdez where you go to see the glaciers and the orcas. Here is the website for Alaska Tour and Travel.

In general, Alaska is pretty informal. It's also cold down in Southeast, even in the summer. I'd be surprized if anyone was wearing anything other than jeans and a flannel.
