Orange Julius

1 cup orange juice
1 cup water
2 egg whites
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
1 heaping cup ice

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender set on high speed for 15-30 seconds.

Makes 2 drinks.

The Orange Julius stands up in Canada have made a killing with these drinks for over 30 years, Sherasi. There has never been one illness traced back to the egg whites in the drinks. It is claimed that this is because the "Julius Drinks" are served almost freezing, due to the well blended ice.

Just as an aside: The other big favorite is the equally awesome "Pineapple Julius", made the same way but with pineapple juice instead of the orange.

There used to be an Orange Julius place inside our Mall Sherasi...it was my favorite! (Plus they made to die for chili dogs!)

I don't worry about raw egg stuff as much as I used to...think about cookie dough..I have been eating that stuff raw since I was 2yrs old, and it has never made me sick.
