I have this 2 year old Hibiscus tree, so we put it out when the weather got warmmer. I look it now and it is in perfect health I mean it has green leaves, get's sun and water. But yet nothing blooms. I've heard online that certein and mabye all Hibiscus's do not like when the temp. outside is I think it was 80 or 90+. It has been that way here for a long period on time. Do you think that this mabye the only answer to my problem? Please help.

Hibuscus will do fine in hot sunny weather outside (they are tropical). Did you trim or cut them back by any chance ?, this will set back blooms for a year or more. Have you used a fertilizer made specifically for flowering plants ?

Last year, my in-laws Hibiscus, which is now mine, didn't even start to bloom until about August. (It's pretty old and about 5' tall) It was looking very poorly inside this winter as apparently I didn't water it enough.

Once I put it outside when it got warm, and started giving it a really good drink at least every other day, it is putting out all new leaves. Because I think I might have shocked it during the winter, I won't be surprised if it doesn't bloom at all.

Weather, moisture, etc. all play a role in flowering plants...maybe it's just going to be a late bloomer...good luck!

My hibiscus is planted outside where it stays year round. It usually starts getting blooms anywhere from August to September. If it has been transplanted recently, it can take a year for it start blooming again. Good luck.
