I have a Zebra grass plant and a Russian Sage, both of which have become too large for where I originally planted them. Can they be successfully transplanted? I don't want to lose them. If transplanting is possible, when would I want to do this? Would I have to cut them down pretty low before moving? I live in Northeastern Ohio. Thank you.

I have both Russian Sage an Zebra grass in my garden. They both transplant very easily, and I have separated both of these plants many times to share with family & friends. I usually do this when the plants are cut down to the bottom. The best time to do this, is in spring and fall when the weather is cool and damp.
